Wednesday, Sir Mortimer & Holly

I’ve had the Bun for almost a year now. She’s an indoor Mini Lop Bunny. Mostly a Menace. The Bun Brightens my day & loves me no matter what, even if she does enjoy eating my shoes & window sills.
She may be cute but owning a bunny is alot of work. You can’t keep them caged up outside & feed them pellets everyday. Bunnies are a 10 year commitment. Please do your research before you consider adding a Bun to your family & please consider adoption first.
I do not support Pet Store buys. Always buy from a reputable breeder or your local RSPCA. Bunnies Require Lots of Hay! Often the myth is they can be fed pellets 24/7, kept in a cage & are messy. This is not true. Bunnies are lagomorphs which means they are seldom vocal. They are vegetarians & need lots of fresh hay to keep their bunny guts moving. My bun is litter trained too! Bet you didn’t know they can be trained. It’s like owning a cat in some ways. NEVER buy a bunny under 8weeks of age! Big no no. For more information visit the HouseRabbitSociety
Then came the Butt Barnacle
The breeder I got Wednesday from called me with a predicament concerning one of her rabbits she’d sold to an Adelaide breeder. Basically she wasn’t happy with him because he had a split penis and was going to put him down. She wanted me to go retrieve the bunny and find him a good home as I was the only person in Adelaide she’d sold too previously and trusted. I agree’d as I thought it was an terrible and vain reason to put a rabbit down for.
We drove all the way to Gawler to pick him up. I still remember how teeny he was (9weeks old) and we drove him back to my house. I had plans to get the word out there and find him the perfect home. He was sweet and adorable. Just for some fun I thought I’d see if Wednesday would get along with another bunny and let them interact.
Long story short it’s a been year since this all happened and we still have him. We couldn’t separate them. I guess you could say it was hump at first sight…I mean love! We’ve had him neutered we had too. He was humping Wednesday so much she had a bald spot on her behind!
And as for Holly? She was a Christmas present for my mother after our previous cat was put to sleep due to old age. We dress her up each Christmas in the spirit of her first day with us.
She hates it, and probably hates you too.
